Η πόλη, οργανωμένη σύμφωνα με το γεωμετρικό πολεοδομικό σύστημα, διέθετε 20 παράλληλους δρόμους (''στενωπούς'', πλ. 4,20 μ.), που διασταυρώνονταν κάθετα με πλατύτερους δρόμους (''πλατείες'', πλ. 6 μ.), σχηματίζοντας 60 περίπου οικοδομικά τετράγωνα. Υπολογίζεται ότι υπήρχαν 600 διώροφα σπίτια, ενώ ο αριθμός των κατοίκων της πόλης -κατά την περίοδο ακμής της στα τέλη του 3ου αι.π.Χ.- έφτανε τις 8.000-10.000.

Ancient Kassope was founded in the 4th century BC. B.C. on a small plateau on the west slope of the Mt. Zalongo, at an altitude of 550m. The city was laid out according to the geometric grid plan. It had 20 parallel streets (“stenopoi”, 4,20 m. wide), which were intersected with wider streets (''plateiai'', 6 m. wide), forming about 60 building blocks. It is estimated that there were about 600 two-storey houses, while the number of the city’s inhabitants - during its peak period at the end of the 3rd century BC- was around 8,000-10,000.
